Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Safety Committee Representation.

Tony Gregory

Question:

225 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Defence when the matters referred to in a letter (details supplied) will be attended to; if it is the policy of the OC not to meet or give official recognition to the safety committee there; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Most of the matters referred to have already been attended to. The few items outstanding are being processed as quickly as possible within the resources available.

As a matter of policy the officer commanding the workplace is committed to meet the duly elected safety representative of the employees at the location, in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989.
