Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water Conservation.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

226 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Defence whether specifications for public buildings drawn up by his Department include the installation of water conservation equipment; and if not, if he has any plans to incorporate such provisions.

Water conservation equipment has been on test in McKee Barracks, Dublin. It is hoped to have the results in the near future, and details of any savings arising from the test. The results will be evaluated with a view to having (a) the equipment included in specifications for future building contracts and (b) the control equipment installed in existing buildings.
