Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Farmland Letting (County Kildare).

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

91 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the number of replies received in response to the recently advertised tenders for letting of lands at Barrettstown Castle Farm, Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare; if many or all were for sums in excess of (a) £100 per acre, (b) less than £100 per acre; if those at (a) or (b) were successful; whether it has been stipulated that the use of the lands are restricted wholly or in part to grazing by sheep, cattle or other categories; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Four tenders were received in response to the recent advertisement for the letting of grazing rights at Barrettstown.

Detailed information regarding contracts entered into, and tenders relating thereto, is confidential and it is not the practice of the trustees to disclose these details. However, I can say that revenue from the current year's letting will represent an increase on the previous year's figure.

The advertisement stipulated that use of the lands was restricted to grazing.
