Vol. 407 No. 6

Written Answers. - Wandering Horses.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

92 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he proposes to introduce legislation to regulate the control of wandering horses; if his attention has been drawn to the continuing problems which are being caused because of the lack of clear legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Legislation governing wandering animals, including horses, is contained in the Animals Act, 1985. The matter of control of horses in urban areas will be addressed by an inter-departmental working group which will be established shortly.
