Vol. 407 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

Ivan Yates

Question:

56 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance the reason the tax free allowance of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who is in receipt of an old age pension has been reduced; and if he will clarify the tax liability and income tax position of this person.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes is at present reviewing the position of this taxpayer. The inspector of taxes will have the review completed, and any repayment made, within the next ten days and will write to the taxpayer explaining the outcome of the review to him.
