Vol. 407 No. 8

Written Answers. - Dublin and Monaghan Bombings.

Tony Gregory

Question:

42 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the outcome of investigations into the perpetrators of the bombings in Dublin and Monaghan in May 1974; and if he has satisfied himself that every effort was made to (1) establish who was responsible and (2) have them brought to justice.

Despite an intensive Garda investigation, no persons have been made amenable to date for the incidents in question. I am satisfied that every effort has been and is being made by the Garda Síochána to establish who was responsible for these crimes and I am informed by the Garda authorities that their investigations are continuing.
