Vol. 407 No. 9

Written Answers. - Howth Junction (Dublin) Roadway.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Question:

169 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a proposal from Dublin Corporation for funding to instal a roadway in the Howth Junction cottages area of Kilbarrack, Dublin 5; when he proposes to give Dublin Corporation permission to carry out works on this roadway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No proposals for road improvement works at the location in question have been received in my Department from Dublin Corporation.

I understand that the road in question is a non-national road. Primary responsibility for the planning and execution of any works on such roads, including the provision of the necessary finance, rests with the local authority and my permission is not required to proceed with the work.
