Edward Nealon

Question:

210 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if she will outline in relation to (a) commercial and (b) non-commercial State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department, (i) its name, (ii) the year of establishment, (iii) the level of fee for the chairman and ordinary directors, if applicable and (iv) when the fee was last fixed.

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

(a) Commercial bodies — none.

(b) Non-commercial bodies — none.

(1) Higher Education Authority, established 1972, acting chairman paid honorarium of £4,000 p.a. fixed January 1990. Ordinary members paid gratuity of £800 p.a. last fixed January 1975.

(2) National Council for Educational Awards, established 1979, no fees payable.

(3) National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, established 1987, no fees payable.

(4) Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, established 1940, no fees payable.
