Written Answers - Ashbourne, Meath, Treatment Plant.

Roger T. Garland

Question:

115 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the problem with the Ashbourne sewage treatment plant and its adverse effect on the environment as a result of the apparent improper functioning of the plant; and if he will make a statement on this matter outlining his proposals in this regard.

My Department are awaiting a report from Meath County Council, the brief for which was approved in September 1990, on the future requirements of the Ashbourne sewage treatment works.
