1 Mr. Bell asked the Taoiseach if he will outline the amount spent by the National Gallery in acquiring items for their collections for each year between 1986 and 1990; the type of works so acquired; the amount provided for acquisitions in 1991; whether any gratis donations have been made in the period 1986 to 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The amount spent by the National Gallery in acquiring works for their collections in each year between 1986 and 1990 inclusive, together with a description of those works, is detailed in the schedule which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.
I am also circulating details of the gratis donations which have been made to the National Gallery in the same period.
The amount provided for acquisitions in 1991 is £116,000.
