Vol. 410 No. 2

Written Answers. - Residential Care.

Nuala Fennell

Question:

185 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Health when it will be possible to have a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 admitted to residential care as he has been on the waiting list for nine years.

The person referred to by the Deputy is on the Eastern Health Board's priority waiting list for a residential place.

Additional residential places are being provided this year in the Eastern Health Board area for people in greatest need from the priority waiting list as a result of the £1 million allocation for the development of mental handicap services in this year's budget. The health board are aware of the family circumstances in this case and are keeping it under continuous review.
