Vol. 410 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Workers' Pay Increases.

Richard Bruton

Question:

186 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health whether there are any outstanding claims due to health workers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

All approved outstanding pay awards are in the course of payment in accordance with the provisions of clause 3.4 of the Agreement on Pay in the Public Service (1987). These awards include those for medical, nursing, para-medical and clerical workers in the health services.

There will also be increases in the pay of all public health service employees in accordance with provisions of the Programme for Economic and Social Progress (1991). These general increases are being implemented over a three year period.
