Vol. 410 No. 3

Written Answers. - Proposed Sligo School.

Edward Nealon

Question:

64 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education if the provision of funds for the building of the new school to replace St. Edward's school, Forthill, Sligo, is still contingent on surplus Diocesan school property being made available to her Department for the Sligo school project, as indicated by her in Dáil Éireann.

Edward Nealon

Question:

65 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Education when work will commence on the new school to replace St. Edward's national school, Sligo.

I propose taking Questions No. 64 and 65 together.

Sketch plans for the proposed new national school at Ballytivnan, Sligo, which will replace the existing St. Edward's national school building, were given to the school authorities on 13 May 1991 to enable them to seek local authority planning permission.

My Department will be in further consultation with the school authorities regarding the other matter referred to by the Deputy.
