Vol. 410 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Browne

Question:

32 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason payment of a special beef premium has been withheld from a person (details supplied) in Carlow in view of the fact that he fulfilled the obligation of notifying his Department on the disposal of some of his herd.

Under the concession given at my request by the EC Commission recently this applicant may now be paid 1990 special beef premium on the six animals retained by him for the period of two months. Premium will be paid at a reduced rate of 80 per cent and payment will issue shortly.

As regards the five animals sold by the applicant, payment cannot be made on them under the terms of the EC concession.
