Vol. 410 No. 4

Written Answers. - Citizenship Application.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

62 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the fact that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 who is married to an Irish citizen since 1978 and has resided in Ireland since 1970 and who applied for citizenship in February 1991, he will confirm that the application is being granted; and if he will outline the reason for the delay in communicating the decision.

No such application was made in February. An application was received on 9 April and is being processed in the normal way. There has been no undue delay in processing the application and when a decision is taken on the matter it will be conveyed to the applicant as soon as possible.
