Vol. 410 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Decentralisation.

Michael Bell

Question:

60 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will outline in relation to the decentralisation of certain sections of his Department to Sligo (1) the precise number of appointments under Department of Finance Circular 5-89 to the grades of assistant principal, higher executive officer, executive officer, staff officer and clerical officer, (2) the parent Department of those promoted to each grade and (3) the previous grade of those promoted to executive officer.

The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following table. I would point out that Circular 5-89 refers principally to promotions under the decentralisation programme to my Department's offices in Sligo. A significant number of staff also transferred to my Department for decentralisation to Sligo under the terms of the Circular 9-88 prior to the promotion competition.
