Vol. 410 No. 6

Written Answers. - Unemployment Benefit Signing.

Seán Ryan

Question:

85 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Social Welfare , if, in view of the distance, cost of transport, and general inconvenience involved for members of the public in the Portrane and Donabate areas of County Dublin who have to attend at Swords Garda station to sign on for unemployment benefit he will arrange with the Garda Commissioner to have this take place in Donabate.

At present 117 persons from Portrane and Donabate sign the unemployed register each week at Swords Garda station. There are no plans to provide signing facilities in either Portrane or Donabate.
