Written Answers. - Processing of Animal Hides.
The percentage of bovine animal hides unprocessed which were exported in 1990 is estimated at 80 per cent.
The promotion of specific industrial projects is a matter for which the IDA have day to day responsibility. I have no direct function in this matter. I am however informed that negotiations are ongoing between the IDA and a number of parties for the establishment of new bovine hide processing facilities. All such negotiations are confidential to the parties involved in accordance with normal IDA practice.
