Question:

201 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in having works carried out to the lightning conductor (details supplied) in County Kilkenny which has been out of order for some time and which is causing great difficulties to the residents in the area.

The Commissioners of Public Works, who own the round tower were not aware that the lightning conductor was faulty. Agreements have been made to have the conductor inspected immediately and to have any necessary remedial works carried out.
