Vol. 411 No. 1

Written Answers. - Cork Unemployment.

Peter Barry

Question:

261 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will set up a special task force to deal with the problems of unemployment in the Cork area.

I have no proposals to establish a special task force for the Cork area. The Industrial Development Authority, which has statutory responsibility for industrial development on a day-to-day basis, have assured me that they are continuing their efforts to secure further employment opportunities in the manufacturing and international services sectors for the Cork region.
