272 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will outline (a) the number and (b) the areas where deployed, of retired gardaí and retired members of the Defence Forces, in receipt of full State pensions currently employed in his Department in the following categories (1) messengers and (2) services attendants.

No officer serving as messenger or services attendant in my Department is in receipt of a full State pension. However, one officer, currently serving as a messenger in the companies registration office, is in receipt of a pension under the Defence Forces (Pension) Scheme, in respect of his permanent service with the Defence Forces.
