Vol. 411 No. 1

Written Answers. - Castledermot (Kildare) Sewerage Scheme.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

476 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment if any plans exist for the provision of treatment works in Castledermot, County Kildare; if so, if he will outline the timescale in which the project will be completed; and if plans do not exist, if he will, as an interim measure, give sanction to Kildare County Council for the removal of untreated sewage from Castledermot by way of road tanker.

Approval issued to Kildare County Council in May 1986 to prepare contract documents for a new sewerage scheme for Castledermot, including a sewage treatment works. These contract documents are still awaited. Any interim arrangements are a matter for the Council and proposals in this regard have not in any case been made to my Department.
