Vol. 411 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Cork School Transport.

Bernard Allen

Question:

592 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education the reason transport has not been provided for children at Little Island who are attending Midleton-Carrigtwohill post-primary centre, County Cork.

The appropriate post-primary centre for transport purposes for the pupils in question is Cobh. However these pupils have chosen to attend Midleton-Carrigtwohill post-primary centre. I am pleased therefore that it has been possible to offer concessionary transport from the Midleton-Carrigtwohill catchment boundary.

This concession would apply only to basically eligible pupils and is subject to spare accommodation being available on existing services and subject to no extra cost.
