Vol. 411 No. 1

Written Answers. - Area of Scientific Interest.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

181 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider declaring a triangular field at Shankill, County Dublin, which is bounded by the railway line, Shanganagh stream and the sea an area of scientific interest.

Identifications of areas of scientific interest are made on merit, based on strict scientific criteria.

If the Deputy will supply a map of the area to the National Parks and Wildlife Service of the Office of Public Works, together with a note outlining the reasons he considers the area to be of scientific interest, the matter will be investigated as soon as possible.
