Vol. 411 No. 5

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Mervyn Taylor

Question:

17 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details regarding the pending applications by associations for funds under the national lottery scheme indicating when the applications were submitted by Dublin County Council; when announcements may be made regarding the disposition of the funds; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Patrick D. Harte

Question:

49 Mr. Harte asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of grants submitted by association football clubs and park committees and the total number of grants submitted by GAA clubs and park committees under the amenities recreational facilities grants scheme 1991.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 17 and 49 together.

Local authorities were notified on 24 September 1991 of the projects in their areas for which grants were allocated under the 1991 amenities recreational facilities grants scheme. A schedule listing details of the grants allocated is available in the Oireachtas Library.
Dublin County Council forwarded their list of grant recommendations to my Department on 22 April 1991.
An analysis, as requested, of grant applications would absorb a disproportionate amount of staff time and resources bearing in mind that over 3,600 such applications were recommended to me.
In any event, information in relation to the projects might more appropriately be obtained directly from the local authorities whose responsibility it was to process the applications and advise individual sponsors of the outcome of their applications.
