Vol. 411 No. 5

Written Answers. - Local Government Act, 1991.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

21 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for the Environment when Part V of the Local Government Act, 1991, will be brought into effect.

The Local Government Act, 1991, is being brought into effect on a phased basis as necessary regulations are made and other preparatory action taken. At this stage, over two-thirds of the provisions of the Act have been commenced. Part V, which relates to local authority boundary alterations, will be brought into effect as soon as possible.
