Vol. 411 No. 7

Written Answers. - Redress of Wrongs Procedures.

Bernard Allen

Question:

236 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence the number of complaints which have been submitted under the redress of wrongs procedures by FCA officers in each command since January 1990; the number of these which have been referred to him; the number which have been determined.

During the period 1 January 1990 to 29 October 1991 five applications for redress of wrongs were submitted by officers of An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil in accordance with section 114 of the Defence Act, 1954.

All five officers are serving in the Southern Command.

Two applications were referred to me for decision and I have given my directions in each case. A further two cases will, I understand, be referred to me shortly. The other case was dealt with at command level by the General Officer Commanding, Southern Command.
