Vol. 411 No. 8

Written Answers. - Fraud Investigation.

Tony Gregory

Question:

72 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance if allegations regarding a company (details supplied) in Dublin 1 in relation to the fraudulent reclaiming of VAT are being investigated; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that they are precluded by their obligations to confidentiality from disclosing information on a taxpayer's affairs to third parties. The information requested cannot therefore be given. The Revenue Commissioners have assured me that they will investigate the allegations made and take whatever action may be necessary.
