Question:96 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline his plans to improve and upgrade the lighting scheme at Kildimo in County Limerick.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 95 and 96 together.
Traffic route lighting schemes for national routes, when approved by my Department, are financed by State road grants. Primary resonsibility for developing such scheme rests with the local authority concerned, in this case Limerick County Council. No proposals have been received from the council for improving traffic route lighting at the locations referred to.
