Question:

167 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education if she will provide a breakdown of the amounts of money paid to each school text book publishing company in (1) 1984, (2) 1985, (3) 1986, (4) 1987, (5) 1988, (6) 1989 and (7) 1990.

Below is a breakdown of the payments made to the publishers of school text books for the years 1984 to 1990. These moneys are paid to the publishing companies by An Gúm, the publications branch of my Department, in relation to the production of text books and educational magazines in the Irish language.
