Question:90 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Finance the size of the national debt (1) in July, 1989 and (2) today.
Written Answers. - National Debt.
The national debt is normally calculated at the end of each quarter and in response to the Deputy's question I propose to indicate the national debt figure for the end-quarter nearest to the dates mentioned in the question. At end June 1989 the national debt was £25,331 million and at end September 1991 the national debt was £25,705 million.
