Vol. 413 No. 1

Written Answers. - Medical Card Refusal.

Tony Gregory

Question:

150 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7, who is in receipt of unemployment assistance, was refused a medical card; and if she will review the decision.

The question of determining eligibility for a medical card in individual cases is a matter for the chief executive officer of the appropriate health board. Accordingly, in this instance, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board with a request that he examine the matter urgently and reply directly to the Deputy.
