Vol. 413 No. 1

Written Answers. - Gweedore (Donegal) Housing Scheme.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

127 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment if plans have been submitted by Donegal County Council to his Department for a housing scheme in Gweedore, County Donegal; the number of houses envisaged in the scheme; the stage planning has reached; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A proposal for the construction of a 24 house scheme in Gweedore was submitted to the Department by Donegal County Council in December 1984. In March 1985, approval issued to the cost plan, layout and house types proposed, subject to certain technical considerations. It is a matter for the housing authority, within the limits of their annual allocation for housing construction and the number of new starts authorised for the year, to decide when to nominate this scheme as part of their housing programme.
