Vol. 413 No. 3

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing Scheme.

Paul Bradford

Question:

63 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline (1) the number of shared ownership applications approved to date by each local authority and (2) the number of houses which have now been purchased, in each local authority area under the scheme.

Returns on their housing operations, including activity under the various schemes contained in A Plan for Social Housing are normally obtained on a quarterly basis from the local authorities. The position at 30 September 1991 in relation to the shared ownership system is set out in the following table.

* In the reply to Questions Nos. 19, 33, 37, 57 and 102 on 23 October 1991, three shared ownership transactions were stated, (on the basis of the information then available from the local authorities) to have been completed. Since then, in a County Cavan case, the house concerned has been purchased outright by the applicant for shared ownership.
