Vol. 413 No. 3

Written Answers. - Motorway Schemes.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

64 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received proposals from interested groups in Celbridge, County Kildare, for the provision of direct access to the proposed N4 by-pass on the Maynooth-Celbridge Road which would provide a resolution of the traffic management problems which currently exist; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No proposals have been received in connection with this matter. The motorway scheme for the Kilcock-Maynooth-Leixlip by-pass prepared by Kildare County Council and approved by the Minister for the Environment provides for an interchange on the by-pass to the west of Lucan with a new link to the existing Lucan-Celbridge road. Access for Celbridge traffic will also be provided further west at the Straffan road interchange to the south of Maynooth.
