Vol. 413 No. 5

Written Answers. - State Cars.

Roger T. Garland

Question:

54 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the critical state of public finances, he agrees that the size of State cars be reduced to not more than 2000 CC.

There are no proposals to replace the current fleet of ministerial cars with 2000cc cars. The Garda authorities report that, when all relevant factors, including whole life cost of vehicles, are taken into consideration, such a measure would not yield significant financial savings.
