Vol. 413 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dublin, College Project.

Tomás MacGiolla

Question:

130 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education if he will ensure that funds will be provided in the 1992 Estimates for the completion of St. Kevin's College, Quarryvale, Dublin 22, where children are currently being transported by bus to Lucan at a cost of £45,000 per annum; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The capital provision for post-primary school building is made on a global basis and no specific amount is allocated in the estimates for any individual project.

The County Dublin Vocational Education Committee's design team are proceeding with the planning of the new building for St. Kevin's community college and this has reached the detail design stage. Every effort is being made to ensure that there is no undue delay. The question of providing funds for the construction of the new building will be considered when planning has been completed.
