Vol. 413 No. 6

Written Answers. - Local Government Regulations Amendment.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

52 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any plans to alter the local government regulations so as to enable local authorities to use the revenue from parking meters, disc parking slips and car park charges for current account purposes on an annual basis as distinct from capital account which is the present situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have no proposals to amend the regulations made under the Road Traffic Acts governing the disposal of income from parking meters and disc parking on public roads. No such regulations apply to income from off-street car parks.
