126 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education if Government funding is allocated to the youth organisation Foróige; and whether there are any prospects of an increase in this funding in the light of the excellent work being undertaken by that organisation.
Foróige received a grant of £650,100 under the youth service grant scheme in 1991. As well as this Foróige received funding for special projects for young people through vocational education committees in Dublin City and Dublin County, Cork, Galway, Waterford and Donegal.
Available funds for 1991 have been fully allocated. The funding for 1922 will be determined in the light of the overall provision made for youth service and the many competing commitments and demands.
