Question:48 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health the number of health boards which have in-house legal departments; and her views on whether such a development would be beneficial.
Written Answers. - Health Board Legal Departments.
Each board engages solicitors locally as required. This practice is considered more economical than the use of inhouse legal departments. Consequently, I do not consider such a development necessary at this stage. However, the matter is kept under review by the health boards.
