Vol. 413 No. 9

Written Answers. - Longford Garda Station.

Louis J. Belton

Question:

194 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, there are to improve the accommodation facilities at Longford Garda station.

A proposal to undertake a major refurbishment of Longford Garda station is the subject of a feasibility study by the Office of Public Works at present. It is not possible to say, at this stage, when work will commence at this centre, but there will be no avoidable delay.

If the refurbishment proposal does not prove to be feasible, then other options, including the question of building a new station, will be pursued.
