Vol. 414 No. 4
19 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for the Marine whether there has been any indication recently from the EC that additional tonnage in respect of trawlers and small in-shore fishing boats will be granted to Ireland.
I would refer the Deputy to the reply to Question No. 46 on Wednesday, 6 November 1991. As explained on that occasion, a case for a relaxation of the present restrictions on Irish fleet capacity has been made to the European Commission. Discussions with the Commission are ongoing.
