Vol. 414 No. 9

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Richard Bruton

Question:

122 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education the value of the national lottery funds channelled through his Department during 1991; if he will outline the particular services on which these funds were spent; and if he will further outline the amount of money which went to services provided (a) by voluntary agencies and (b) by statutory agencies.

Provisional expenditure by my Department on activities funded from the national lottery for 1991 is £30.106 million and is distributed as follows between the board headings under which national lottery funds are allocated:

£m

Irish Language

1.594

Arts and Culture

4.285

Youth and Sport

24,227

Total

30.106

A breakdown of the amount of money which went to services funded by voluntary and statutory agencies is not readily available. I will be glad, however, to provide details of any project in which the Deputy has a particular interest.
