Vol. 414 No. 9

Written Answers. - Nenagh (Tipperary) Vocational School.

Michael Lowry

Question:

123 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the serious structural defects in Nenagh Vocational School (details supplied); and if it is his intention to sanction the works involved and make capital available to enable them to commence as a matter of urgency.

Officials from my Department recently met representatives of the vocational education committee concerning this school and I am aware of the urgent need for major repairs.

The matter is being considered for inclusion in my Department's programme for 1992 which is dependent on the availability of capital resources and on the Department's other commitments and priorities.

Meanwhile action is being taken to have essential remedial work carried out as a matter of urgency pending the commencement of the major repairs.
