80 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if it is his intention to introduce an early retirement scheme for farmers which already operates in other EC countries; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
There are no plans to introduce an early retirement scheme for farmers here pending a decision by the EC Council of Ministers on a proposal for such a scheme which has been submitted to the Council by the Commission as part of the Common Agricultural Policy reform measures.
