Question:66 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Education the amount due by his Department to Bus Éireann; and if he will give a breakdown of what this year's amount relates to.
Written Answers. - School Transport Scheme Costs.
Costs incurred by Bus Éireann in respect of the school transport scheme are funded through my Department on an ongoing basis. The costs in question relate to expenses incurred by Bus Éireann in the overall management and day-to-day operation of the scheme.
The provision in this year's Estimates related to the net cost of the service, that is exclusive of charges, amounts to £32.97 million.
