Vol. 416 No. 2

Written Answers. - Beef Premium Scheme.

Michael Noonan

Question:

206 Mr. Noonan (Limierick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will reconsider the payment of a beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick who has been disqualified from the scheme for two years as a result of a clerical error in his application form.

The persons named applied under the 1991 special beef premium scheme for grants in respect of animals which had already received premium under the 1990 special beef premium scheme. Under EC regulations governing the scheme my Department have no choice but to rule these applicants out of the 1991 special beef premium scheme and to debar them from the scheme for 12 months from 5 December 1991.
