I propose to take Questions Nos. 14, 36, 38, 43, 56, 62, 98 and 105 together, as they have been phrased in similar or identical terms.

No date has, as yet, been set for the forthcoming referendum following upon the signing of the Treaty on European Union at Maastricht on 7 February.

Consideration is at present being given to the wording of the proposed amendment to the Constitution. When the Government have decided on the wording they wish to propose, a Constitutional Amendment Bill will be tabled in this House. This will probably be done during the current Dáil session.

Once the Constitutional Amendment Bill has been passed, the Minister for the Environment will make an order fixing the polling date for the referendum which will be not less than 30 days and not more than 90 days after the date of the order.
