Vol. 416 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sale of Lands.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

73 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if, in regard to submissions received from a person (details supplied) in County Kildare since 2 December 1991 the Office of Public Works are prepared to negotiate with him for the sale of lands as indicated; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Commissioners of Public Works are prepared to sell a plot of land which the person in question wishes to acquire subject to agreement on price and other terms of sale. The matter is the subject of ongoing correspondence between the person named and the commissioners and a formal offer of sale will be made as soon as possible.

The person named has also expressed an interest in acquiring two other plots of land which he is currently leasing from the commissioners. These plots are essential to the protection of the canal and are not for sale.
