Question:172 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a notice of assessment for the year 1990-91, advising the taxpayer of an overpayment for £3,920 was issued by the inspector of taxes on 17 January 1992. A cheque in settlement for this amount, plus £352.80 in respect of interest due to him on this payment, was issued on 20 February 1992.
